After the 7.2 earthquake (centered in Baja California) struck on Easter Sunday, Laura sold us an
earthquake detection system. Installation was included in the $3 sales price. We bought two because we're
stupid supportive parents like that. What?
Last week, Laura installed a "47-point security system" in her room.

Spring break is over now. However, I'm guessing that the appearance of various inventions around my house are from from it.

That thing looks like it could cause more injury than the acutal quake.

wow - she should market that. I know an 8 year old who would totally buy it. If he has enough birthday money left over, that is.
Thank goodness she is back at school now!
I love her creativity.
Are you sure that's not simply a parent trap?!
Hee hee.
Laura is brilliant!
If that were my bed, I'd end up tangled in that web in the middle of the night when I got up to go pee. :)
She's got a future, that one. I can see her name all over cool gadgets sold in airplanes everywhere!
Because 48-points would have been overkill.
Better safe than sorry.
*like*
How is her room not decorated with all black?
@katydidnot: You know your stepdaughter well. It will be a lot more black by summer's end, if I keep my promises. She has been adamantly protesting the pinkishness for a long time.
Can she come up to Ohio next year for Spring Break and keep my kids occupied? That girl is awesome.
P.S. Your capcha is slacking. I swear I got the same nonsense word the last time I stopped by.
will her dad be helping her with the PATENT PROCESS???? ;)
And just what exactly is she 47 point protected from?
Love it!
Not too many earthquakes happening here but I am interested in that 47-point security system. It’s gotta be cheaper than the one I have even if it has to encompass an entire house. And probably just as effective.
When are you going to let this child go global with her inventions?
That is too fricken hilarious!!!
i shouldn't say it looks like the spider is making a web, but its true. it's a trap- don't get too close!
(i've fallen asleep in bed with hersheys chocolate before. predictably, it makes a mess.)
i didn't think to use hersheys as the bait in a trap though.
she's a busy little spider.
i love laura's creativity. its great that you two have fun together.
Where can I get me one of those??
Does Hershey's chocolate attract earthquakes?
Yeah, I hear black yarn really helps protect you from falling debris.
What?
Hmmm... I'm pondering: should you buy Laura craft stuff and/or kits? Or not? What would she do if she had access to beads & glitter to incorporate into her black yarn? (Or perhaps they are already there & we can't see it due to lighting in the photo?)!
'sit work?;)
is that design patented? I might steal it. you should talk to a patent lawyer
My oldest kid used to do the same kind of thing with string. Called it his human spiderweb.
What a pretty bed!
haha, lol... at least you can't say she isn't creative :D
Love that room :D
