Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.
~Melodie Beatty
We spend January 1 walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives not looking for flaws, but for potential.

happy New Year dear friend - filled with all kinds of wonderful potential!
I'm going to take the advice of Ellen Goodman.
Happy New Year, Cheri!
Well said!
Have a Happy New Year, my friend!
Happy new year to you all!
Yep, I prefer looking for potential.
Happy new year, Cheri.
Thank you. And to you as well!
Happy New Year, my lovely sister and friend! I love you dearly!
Love the photo of Laura! She's a doll!
That's an awesome second quote.
Happy 2010.
you are my blue skies.
Love you. And her. And blue skies. And not looking for flaws. AAL.
You're my blue sky
You're my sunny day!
Happy New Year to all y'all :-)
i love the idea of looking for "potential."
but could someone please point out the "potential" aisle?
because i keep getting distracted in the cookie section.
knowing what to look for is 90% of the battle.
p.s. i love the photo of laura. she looks like she has it figured out.
continued blessings in the new year.
I come here and I find blue skies and wonderment.
I know there is potential out there...I just need to relax and give it a chance grow.
happy thoughts to you and all you hold dear.
Look at the lovely Laura! Makes me smile. :-)
The Ellen Goodman quote is perfect. Thank you very much, Cheri. You're wonderful!
You have much wisdom! I'll take your suggestions under advisement!
YOU are blue skies and wonderment.
For real, I'm not just being silly. You know, like I tend to do.
Love you.
Happy! Happy! To you!
PS - I was in vegas this weekend and drove past a billboard that I thought had your 2nd or 3rd (or whatever) husband's picture on it, which made me think of you. But actually it wasn't, it was Pete Wentz, but still, I thought of you. :)
Happy New Year! Love the picture!
Happy New Year darlin. Make it count.
i ran out of floss, tossed the empty pack in the trash. i wonder, though, is the plastic recyclable?
and i took down the tree, a christmas leftover that was still good; i knew it wouldn't last until i'm hungry for christmas again.
and everything in boxes.
i need to clean my desk and my dresser; my soul perhaps could use a good cleansing,
or an airbrush.
the blanket is on pre-heat, awaiting my arrival and for tomorrow i'm planning my survival: i have workout and work, and a new year of worry and a new year of opportunity.
and another chance to mispend myself.
or perhaps i could apply for an extended line, on credit.
love you too, cherie.
Love that! Happy New Year!!! 2010 is gonna be GREAT! P.S. I just notice the A.L. pic on your header - LOVE IT!!!
That's right. When I look at my big behind in the mirror, I'll think, "No, no! Do not look for cracks. Look for potential!"
And I will love me just a little more.
I LOVE your glasses. Can I borrow them? I won't sit on them. Promise.
and gratitiude? i am grateful for you my bloggy friend!
I think I need to follow all that advice
I love, love, love that quote.
i've never had a mud bath.
there's a famous mud bath place in calistoga, at the northern end of the napa valley, not too far from san francisco.
but they don't change the mud after each user; the thought of sitting in somebody elses mud creeps me.
but a bubble bath sounds good. i just wish there was a way to take them without having to constantly add more hot water.
Oh...I love both of these. Happy New Year, my friend of toe injuries, hottie docs, Adam husbands, and mom to lovely Laura. I hope it is a great one for you!
Sunglasses fit for Sir Elton! Happy 2010, Cheri!
I am grateful for blue skies AND blizzards. ILY. AAL.
